Jean Alfonso-Decena is a startup builder, global tech leader, serial speaker, conscious connector, and yoga teacher currently based in Osaka, Japan. She was born and raised in Manila, Philippines. For over 15 years, she traveled extensively for simultaneous spiritual studies and deep tech tenure, building and running globally distributed, cross-functional remote teams and businesses across Asia, the US, and Europe for Silicon Valley tech startups.
Jean was one of the first few AI Trainers and Conversational AI Designers when the space was still nascent, evolving into an executive leadership role co-designing and co-building AI-powered virtual assistants for a Berkeley-based, Google award-winning AI fintech startup. Simultaneously, Jean is certified to teach Hatha and Trauma-informed yoga, meditation, and whole-food plant-based nutrition. She traveled through the Mojave Dessert, Rhinebeck in NY, Central, and Southeast Asia, and several cities in the US, to pursue her inward journey into Self followed by 10 days of deep, utter silence in a remote monastery in Sri Lanka that not only blew her mind but also led her to a more whole, conscious, radical way of living, loving and serving. There she got to witness, and eventually embody the symbiotic relationship of spirituality and technology that helped her come back to herself and live consciously.
Jean continues to marry the two worlds of spirituality and technology in speaking at global AI and tech events, coaching, mentoring, and training organizations, universities, and individuals to upgrade their skill sets. This includes mentoring in NYC, training an Ivy League university's faculty on Data Science, and speaking at a TEDx event in Japan where she currently lives. Jean has also ventured into Web3 to meld various domains of deep technology and anchor them into a spiritual foundation to help uplift human consciousness.
